Depression and anxiety are two of the most common mental health issues for which individuals seek therapy.
Strategies with depression include helping you take back the time and energy that's been consumed with thoughts and memories that blur your path and can make you feel lost.Strategies in helping clients with anxiety include exercises in how to break down bigger tasks, prioritize problems, or manage social situations more effectively, which can often be harder done than said.
Painful and traumatic experiences can remain with us long after the experience is over. These memories can be triggered by many things in daily life, and can come and go without much warning. This is why they can seem so debilitating, keeping us from moving on.
Feelings of anxiety, panic, deep sadness, and anger are a few of the emotions that can linger and hinder our progress. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grieving, healing, and long-term positive steps to a better life.
Family Counseling can increase and improve communication between family members and strengthen the family bond. Our goal is to make each member feel heard by working with the family as a whole so everyone is included while building strategies.
Through the use of modeling, families learn that treating others with respect can increase the quality of communication. It also can reduce individual conflicts, and increase the family's self-esteem as one cohesive unit.
One of the most difficult experiences in life is the loss of a love one (amily members, friends, family pets, or someone else close. The feelings we might experience can be loneliness, anger, guilt, or responsibility (either for something we did or said, or something we didn't do or say). There is no doubt that everyone deals with loss differently, and coping isn't always easy.
Anger is an emotion that effects everyone differently and can get us into conflict with others. Whether at work or in social situations, we can learn to recognize moments when we need to think before speaking, express our feelings constructively, and identify what will help lead to positive resolutions, and more peaceful, daily interactions.
Whether your child is experiencing difficulty with behavior, grades, self-esteem, or social issues in school, we can work to define what may be causing these issues and help your child or teen become confident and successful in school.
And if homeschooling during Covid is an issue, we can support you and help find a way through it.
